Alan Sawyers

Alan Sawyers

I worked closely with Alan, a graphic designer, to turn his vision into a website. He wanted something that could be easily updated on a regular basis. The site allows for quick and easy addition of news content and portfolio items.

Alan supplied me with a photoshop template of the website and I made it functional. We managed to complete the website in just over a week as Alan wanted to get his website out there quickly!

Additionally the site shows his Twitter feed in the sidebar which is automatically pulled in and displayed without any input from Alan!

Citybase Lettings

Citybase Lettings

I partnered with Amair from Divided Media to create Citybase Lettings. Whilst Amair devised the look and feel of the site, I created a custom backend so the client could manage Landlord, Customers and Properties as well as other tailored requirements.

The site has a content manageable aspect with the ability to change the content on pages and add news articles. Properties are searchable by various criteria and all pages allow for complete SEO customisation.

The site also allows customers to pay for their rent and other property related payments through the site via the RBS WorldPay gateway.

Generations Together

Generations Together

Generations Together is a blanket website that covers the ongoing work of charities in the North-East dealing with connecting young and old people together.

I spoke with the charities to get their requirements and produced a website that allows each of the charities to have their own sections but also to keep the content on the site general to avoid duplication.

There facility to add videos uploaded through Vimeo to showcase the work they are involved in as well as adding blog posts and photos and latest events. All this functionality had to be contained inside a vibrant design to reflect the nature of the charity.

Reward Driving

Reward Driving

Phil wanted a good looking website that was easy to update (due to the ever changing nature of driving - and their ever increasing prices!!).

There was a strong emphasis on the SEO for Reward Driving due to the saturation of driving instructors in the north-east. The website has a high conversation rate but the main emphasis was to generate more traffic.

The site has easy to access, succinct information, a convenient contact form for quick correspondence and a blog on the front page to congratulate all the people who have passed their driving tests!

World Football Columns

World Football Columns

World Football Columns is a website for freelance football writers wanting to expose their work to the web. The site allows for comments, discussion and feedback. I created the design to act like a newspaper/magazine with easy-to-read type.

Social networking functionality (like Facebook) was also implemented so users could message and follow other users.

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) was very important so the website could compete with other blogs that specialise in football (soccer) on the website. The site now gets over 20,000 page views per month and has an ever growing audience!

Tyne Valley Cycling

Tyne Valley Cycling

The purpose of the Tyne Valley Cycling website was to create a community for cyclist in the Northumberland area. I provided a content managed website so they could update and add information about events and races that are due to take place.

I also integrated a Photo Gallery to showcase the events the club have and a Forum so users of the websites can discuss past and future events and .

This is version 3 of the website and I feel privileged to have worked with Peter, the chairman, in developing the site over the years from the bottom up!

Tim & Michael

Tim & Michael

Tim and Michael are freelance advertisers working in London. Most notorious for the Salt and Lineker advert from the 90's, remember that one (the one where Gazza cries)?

Michael came to me with the design in PDF format and I created the XHTML/CSS to make the website functional. I helped them understand the transition from print to web so they could also provide others with website material in the future.

The site gives them complete control over uploading videos (QuickTime), print and audio and gives them the ability to upload news items to the site.

Think Innovative

Think Innovative

I worked with Gary from Left Hand Gang to create a website that showcases Think's products.

The site allows the people over at Think to update their content and news and also add testimonials about their products on the site.

Selected products also are sold through the site using Paypal as the merchent gateway. There is no knowledge of Paypal needed by the clients, all they have to do is tick a box, stipulate a price and their products are available to the world (although I think they only operate in the UK at the moment)!
